The township of Tai-An belongs to large mountain circle once of lake prefecture of Hsinchu state originally before recovering. Under the jurisdiction of large big Anxiang of district of lake prefecture of Hsinchu county in June of the 36th year of the Republic of China. On October 25, 39, the county government of Miaoshu is established, is under the jurisdiction of Miaoshu County formally in large Anxiang. Because the township name repeated with large Anxiang of Taichung, so applied and changed the name, was renamed as one in the township of Tai-An and chosen happy and peace purpose formally in the 43rd year of the Republic of China by higher authorities.
